March '08's Brimmer

After last’s months version of “Tug’s Talking Here”, a couple of our members, (Rich & Bobby Murphy) complained that I had mellowed since my “strike”, well, guys, I am back.

Good luck to Kieran who as you are reading this is heading to Broadway to audition for the part of “Shreik – The Musical”, which will be opening soon on the Great White Way. We all know that he is a star, now the whole world will recognize, our very own Shreik.

Timmy Murphy is starting a phone/email/mail campaign to right a wrong, Murph got passed over for the Head Coaching job for North’s baseball team, by someone from Ryan, what is up with that? See, Timmy for all of the sordid details. His Press Agent, Tigger, is already mounting the campaign, including a couple of speaking engagements at a watering hole near you. Speaking of a Murphy, House of Rep., Patrick Murphy who covers the Far NE and also parts of Bucks County, recently during a vote which was proclaiming that the New York Giants were some wonderful team, was the only dissenting vote in the 412 – 1 tally because Pat is a lifelong Eagles fan and couldn’t vote for the Jints, make sure you look for him on your November ballot.

Condolences are in order for the original Roman Gladiator, Billy Gibbons, who was so enamored with the Roman basketball team that was 14-0 in the Catholic league until they lost in the 1st round of the playoffs, they will be missed! Tommy Healey is working on a new rap song for that gang at Broad & Vine, which can be heard at the Binlids, soon. Speaking of former Captain, Tom Healey, he is perfecting his comedic act for his stage debut, upstairs in the Hall during the softball team’s Beef and Beer which should happen at some point in late March or early April, You can always check the web blog at

Jimbo has started a business of moving houses, if you don’t like the way you house sits, or would like to move it to a different neighborhood, just give him a call, 800-badtruckdriver, he will move it for you.

I know that you wondering why, so far, I haven’t mentioned our Hero, Matty Edgar, well, saving the worse for last, on Sat. Jan. 26th, five of us including the “Door” Matt went to the Wachovia Center to see the Notre Dame vs. Villanova basketball game, as luck would have it, for us, not him, our tickets are in the Club Box where I am sure that you know has a cash bar, well, Matty puts up his credit card to run a tab, in the box, our crowd swelled from 5 to about 15 or so, including the Wenger Clan, ND Harvey and assorted other miscreants, our Hero, kept whispering that his tab number was 90, when the 2 hour basketball game was over, his bar bill was $437., he put another $100. on it for a tip for the exhausted barmaid, not bad for a Sat. afternoon, $537., Oh, Matty, you really done it this time!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to One and All, see you at McScotty’s!
