April '08 - Tug's Talking Here

April’s Newsletter:

The following was omitted from last month’s newsletter due to a space problem, no, Arnold, you had nothing to do with it!
I know that you wondering why, so far, I haven’t mentioned our Hero, Matty Edgar, well, saving the worse for last, on Sat. Jan. 26th, five of us including the "Door" Matt went to the Wachovia Center to see the Notre Dame vs. Villanova basketball game, as luck would have it, for us, not him, our tickets are in the Club Box where I am sure that you know has a cash bar, well, Matty puts up his credit card to run a tab, in the box, our crowd swelled from 5 to about 15 or so, including the Wenger Clan, ND Harvey and assorted other miscreants, our Hero, kept whispering that his tab number was 90, when the 2 hour basketball game was over, his bar bill was $437., he put another $100. on it for a tip for the exhausted barmaid, not bad for a Sat. afternoon, $537., Oh, Matty, you really done it this time!
Congratulations to all of the members of AOH and LAOH on winning the Joseph Montgomery award at the parade, I understand that our very own, Jimbo had requested to drive the flat bed in the parade, but due to the safety of the parade watchers and the fact that the band would have been called "Scrapped Bare Knuckle Boxers" when they fell off of the rig, it was a good call not to use, Client 9 7/8!
On Sat., Feb. 23rd, a fearsome, foursome, myself, Obie, Mo and of course, Matt the Cat went to the Nova game again, then frequented a few watering holes in South Philly and then went to St. Gabe’s, 29th & Dickinson for a beef and beer, Jimmy Bell did a great job at the door while being watched by the organizer of the great event, George Sumner who wants everyone to know that in reality, ND Harvey is his brother, there were a few questions amongst the crowd on why Matt the Cat, was out there solo dancing under the stars while wearing gloves, not the Michael Jackson look but the Matty Edgar look, there was much debate on which one was stranger, then the Cat got a dance with one of the Nuns in attendance, I bet she wished she had her yard stick with her!
Glad to see Timmy Murphy out and about, because of Timmy losing out on the North Catholic baseball coach job, he has been appointed the 2nd base coach of our AOH 87 team which starts up on March 30th, in fact by the time you read this, the Bad News Bears should be 0-4! By the way, my approval rating from Bobby Murphy went up, I have to appease my constituents!

I am, Tug McGraw and I approve this message!
